My niece is a real estate agent who walked through our home to give us home sale tips and advise us of what she thought was the fair market value. I love my niece and appreciated her thoughtfulness to help us sell our home. However, when the community advised that a Personal Relocation Manager, who is a dedicated relocation advocate and a real estate expert, would provide two independent Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) reports — we jumped at the chance to learn more about our competition and to start getting our expectations in line with the local market. My husband was not comfortable using my niece and I simply explained to her that the community provided home sale resources and we wanted to use this program. She graciously understood. I attended a Moving Made Easy® seminar and found this community event to be fun and helpful. The tips they shared at this event allowed me to start wrapping my head around the idea of sorting my belongings. I needed to start thinking about the items that I would be keeping and the items that I would not be taking with me. In addition, my Personal Relocation Manager provided me with some tips and tools when I felt stuck in the downsizing process. The Personal Relocation Manager asked, “How many spatulas do you really need?” This made me laugh and admit to myself that I did not need to take all 14 of my spatulas!

I utilized all the downsizing resources the community offered and found myself looking forward to our new home and lifestyle.
